The LISST-Logger is a fully submersible datalogger with two RS-232 ports, rated to 2,000 m depth.
Sequoia designed the LISST-Logger first and foremost for its LISST-Tau and LISST-OST instruments. It records data from up to 6 digital and analog sensors at the same time. That includes RS-232 output from up to two LISST-Tau’s or LISST-OST’s, plus up to four analog sensors. It also works with other RS-232 sensors that start sending data as soon as they power up.
See the FAQs for sensor compatibility.
Flexible submersible datalogger
The two RS-232 channels operate independently. You can pair each one with two high-resolution analog input channels. This lets you log several sensors at once, even when they use different interfaces and sampling rates. For example, you can run a LISST-OST on one port and an analog sensor on the other.
Programmable, low-power logging
You can program the logging schedules with start, stop and logging interval settings. The logger runs two fully independent schedules at the same time. Each port logs only during the sampling window you set for it. Start and stop logging with the rotary switch on the housing. You can also use a digital signal (+5 to 12 V).
With every recording, the logger also stores a time stamp, the input voltage, and its internal temperature and humidity.
The LISST-Logger runs from an external 7–30 VDC power supply or battery. It controls power to the connected sensors and switches them fully off when they are not in use. Between logging intervals, it drops into a low-power sleep mode (0.6 mA at 12 V). This makes the LISST-Logger a practical submersible datalogger for long-term deployments.
Plan your deployment with the LISST-Logger battery calculator.
The LISST-Logger comes with software, but you don’t need it. You can simply connect to the logger and program it from a terminal window.
