Sequoia’s VP Emeritus, Dr. Curtis Mobley has never been busier since he retired from Sequoia in 2018. Apart from exploring the world, with adventures in the Galapagos, Amazon River Basin, Africa and elsewhere, he has been busy writing books.
Curt’s latest work is ‘A Short History of Radiative Transfer Theory‘, published in the summer of 2024. It traces the development of radiative transfer theory from its beginnings in the early 1700s until today. The book is highly relevant for anybody studying (ocean) optics and with even a fleeing interest in the historical development of the field.
Sequoia will bring five copies of the book – all signed by Curt! – to Ocean Optics XXVI, organized by The Oceanography Society. We’ll have a daily draw Monday-Friday in the exhibit area for a copy. Swing by Sequoia’s booth every day during the conference to sign up for the daily drawing and a chance to win a SIGNED copy of Curt’s latest book!
