New publication out about the Hyper-bb!
Published in Applied Optics, this new paper combines optical modeling, geometric radiative simulations, and laboratory experiments to develop and validate an angular weighting function (AWF) that characterizes changes in the Hyper-bb response to different measurement and environmental variables.
Importantly, the study shows how the mean scattering angle of the sensor varies with wavelength and under different environmental conditions (salinity and temperature). The study also explores the impact of attenuation on backscattering measurements and includes an attenuation correction developed specifically for the Hyper-bb instrument.
