SUMMARY:LISST workshop in China\, November 10-12 2008
DESCRIPTION:Sequoia’s Chinese distributor\, CHORES Ltd. in Qingdao organized a Chinese LISST user’s workshop November 10-12 2008. Sequoia’s VP (technology) Chuck Pottsmith and Sales & Marketing Manager Ole Mikkelsen travelled to Qingdao to meet with more than 60 Chinese LISST users as well as potential users. \nDuring the 3 day workshop\, Chinese users presented the results of their work with the LISST and Chuck and Ole presented new developments\, in particular the LISST-StreamSide\, the LISST-SL and the re-designed LISST-Portable. A lot of information was exchanged and a technical training session was conducted\, wherein the participants learned first-hand from VP Chuck Pottsmith how to troubleshoot the LISST-100. \n“This is a happy time for us\, they created a free space for us and we can share our idea with different customers\, this is a fantastic trip and we hope we can attend this kind of workshop next year” said Mr.Huang from Changjiang Water Resources Commission and continued “Sequoia developed a very advanced Submersible Particle Size Analyzer and we think it is time to stop our current mechanical sampler”.  Mr. Huang also gave an excellent presentation entitled “Comparison Between Sequoia’s LISST-100 and Traditional Time-Accumulation Sediment Sampler”. \nMr. Huang from Changjiang Water Resources Commission gives his talk. \n“We learned a lot from our Chinese customers.  Their experiences and their suggestion are very precious and their demands will drive us to move on.  We hope they enjoyed the workshop and I hope we can hold different topic workshops in different Chinese cities in the future” said VP Chuck Pottsmith. \nMr. Tang\, the president of CHORE said “We hold a lot of workshops but this time is different; this workshop is interactive and our customers and partners can ask their questions and air their concerns\, and they get satisfying answers from the scientists from Sequoia”. \nThe last day of the workshop was dedicated to an excursion to the Laoshan mountain\, a one-hour drive from Qingdao as well as a visit to the Olympic Marina in Qingdao. \nChinese LISST users and Sequoia’s representatives at Laoshan Mountain. \nThe Olympic Marina in Qingdao. \n
