Webinars by PiA in a time of COVID

Next webinar is in 2/2021; to be announced

What are PiA Webinars?

While we wait for COVID to pass so that we may meet in person at a PiA Conference, PiA is offering webinars.

PiA’s monthly webinars aim to promote scientific interactions between researchers, monitoring agencies, and industry concerned with particles in water. Scientists selected by PiA Steering Committee will be invited to present their work to a broad audience of students, University faculty, engineers in industry, and scientists in government. The PiA Steering Committee will announce resumption of physical conferences when COVID is no longer an issue.

The webinars wil resume in February 2021 after annual holidays.

Recorded webinars can be seen by clicking links below each.

Next Speaker:  To be announced.

Previous Speakers

Dec 9., Time – 3:00 p.m. (Bogota): Dr. Susana Vinzon began her career in Fluvial Hydraulics. During her PhD studies under Prof. Ashish Mehta at University of Florida, she was introduced to cohesive sediment dynamics via the Amasseds Project on the Amazon Continental Shelf.  As a professor at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, she has established a Cohesive Sediment Dynamics Laboratory. She works on and consults in many regions on cohesive sediments. She has guided many graduate students who are themselves advancing  Amazon Estuarine science. She will present an overview of this work. Her topic: Fine sediments in the large Amazon system;
