DESCRIPTION:CLEAN PACIFIC brings together the tight-knit response community in the Western United States and Canada to address spill prevention and response matters pertinent to that region’s environmental sensitivities. It is a must-attend event for those involved in spill prevention and response for oil and hazardous materials in the marine and inland environment. The goal of CLEAN PACIFIC is to deliver a valuable event that covers the most pressing matters in the Western United States and Canada and offer ample time for attendees to network and cultivate the relationships that are crucial before\, during\, or after a response. \nThe CLEAN PACIFIC exhibit hall will feature spill response organizations\, regulatory agencies\, supplier/manufacturers\, and service companies showcasing their latest solutions and technologies. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with all of the exhibitors to discuss their unique challenges. \nSequoia will exhibit with our range of LISST instruments that have an almost 20-year track record in use in the oil spill community.

SUMMARY:SEDHYD 2019 Conference
DESCRIPTION:The first Federal Interagency Sedimentation Conference (FISC) convened in 1947\, and the first Federal Interagency Hydrologic Modeling Conference (FIHMC) convened in 1998. Because these two conferences had similar and overlapping content and participants\, organizers combined them into a single highly successful joint conference for the first time in 2006. The second and third SEDHYD conferences followed in 2010 and 2015. As a result of all these conferences\, 3\,000 papers have been published through the conference proceedings\, which are available at https://acwi.gov/sos/pubs/index.html \nThe SEDHYD 2019 Conference again brings together federal and non-federal scientists\, engineers\, and managers from various natural resources disciplines. Papers include recent accomplishments in research and technical developments in the physical\, chemical\, and biological aspects of sedimentation. Papers also describe the development and use of numerical models addressing issues of water quality and quantity\, and sediment erosion\, transport\, and deposition. The conference uses mixed formats\, including formal presentations\, poster sessions\, mini-workshops and model demonstrations. Organizers also plan a competition for the best student paper. \nSequoia’s Jim Decker\, Yogi Agrawal and Ole Mikkelsen will attend the conference and be on-site with a booth in the exhibit hall\, showcasing Sequoia’s products.
