Offsetting Our Company’s C02 Emissions Going into 2020

January 9, 2020

Happy 2020! This year, Sequoia Scientific, Inc. continues its commitment to offsetting our company’s CO2 emissions!

Using the MyClimate Calculator, Sequoia has estimated its 2019 CO2-emissions at 202 tons CO2. This 202 tons of CO2 can be offset by planting 1,013 trees

Sequoia’s co-founder and President Emeritus, Dr. Yogi Agrawal, has taken initiative to plant 1,000 trees in WA state with 500 trees already in the ground. Sequoia has furthermore donated $2,500 for a tree-planting project at the Waldorf School of Bend,OR to plant 250 trees. For 2019, Sequoia has thus planted or sponsored 750 trees, enough to offset 75% of its 2019 emissions. Dr. Agrawal plans to plant another 500 trees in the spring of 2020, which will be enough to offset all Sequoia’s 2019 emissions and 25% of its 2020 emissions.

Get some guidance for how to grow your own beautiful sequoia tree here, and then be sure to keep a look out for our booth at conferences! We love to gift sequoia saplings to those visiting our table, and receiving updates from their caretakers as they grow. We hope to see you at the 2020 Ocean Sciences meeting in February.
