New flexible interfacing for the LISST-200X!

April 1, 2022

Sequoia has again upgraded the workhorse LISST-200X. The LISST-200X has always included a 6-pin auxiliary connector for interfacing with other sensors and systems, with three possible configurations:

  1. Output particle size and concentration as voltages, ideal for integration with a profiling CTD,
  2. Measure 2 or 3 analog inputs from analog sensors such as fluorometers or turbidity meters (with the 200X supplying 12V power to the sensors), or
  3. Measure one analog input and accept a digital signal to start and stop logging.

Each LISST-200X was set to one of these configurations during manufacturing. While the choice of configuration could be changed later, that required a modification inside the housing, performed at Sequoia or by an authorized technician. Users could not change it themselves, and the configuration had to be specified upon ordering.

Now, Sequoia’s engineering team has updated the LISST-200X electronics, firmware, and software so that these features are instantly configurable by the user, using the LISST-200X software. It is no longer necessary for the user to specify the endcap configuration on their order, and it is even possible for the user to change the configuration as needed for different deployments and setups. LISST-200X’s with s/n 2210 and higher ship with these new capabilities, incl. the new electronics, firmware, software (V1.20) and updated manual.

LISST-200X’s with lower s/n’s can be upgraded; contact Sequoia support for pricing.
