Dear colleague,

The number of respondents to the call for abstracts for Particles in the Americas (PitA) has been very low. Many people have indicated to us that they find the topic very interesting and that they would like to attend, but that due to the current financial situation they have very limited or no travel allowances for the current year.

It is now a month past the deadline for abstract submission. As nobody can be interested in travelling to and attending a meeting with significantly fewer participants than originally expected, we have decided to call off the meeting, to be reconvened in a stronger economic environment some time later.  We do, however, intend to organize a meeting in Europe in 2010, as a follow up to the PiE meeting in Bologna in October 2008. 

We sincerely do apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause you.
