The LISST-StreamSide
is developed specifically for monitoring applications, for example sediment monitoring
in shallow streams and rivers or for storm runoff. It can also be used as an in-line
instrument system, for example in a flow-through system on a research vessel. The first units shipped in May 2008.

| | Equipped with a touch-panel display, the LISST-StreamSide does not
require a computer for programming set-up and sampling conditions.
From the Main Menu the user first configures the data collection, then starts data acquisition.

| | The start conditions can be programmed in multiple ways. One is to program a specific date and time to start sampling, shown here.
| | | | | | | 
| | The
raw scattering data sensed by the instrument is analyzed on-board in
real-time and consequently no post-processing of data is necessary.

| | A clean water source is being used to clean the optical cell during sampling, and to perform fully automatic background measurements - the so-called zscats.
| | | | | | |  | | Upon completed sampling the fully processed data can be downloaded as
an ASCII file to a PC using a RS-232 connection. | | | | | | | | |
