BioBlock Anti-fouling Shutter Available

A motorized twin-shutter anti-fouling
device is available for use on our LISST series instruments. The
device, BioBlock, is comprised of a small housing containing the
electronics, battery, and driver motor. A sliding shutter is driven by
the motor. The shutter covers the transmit and receive glass windows
when data is not being taken.
The digital command (logic pin raised
high) for operating the shutter is originates within the LISST-100
or LISST-25X instruments. This implies that the software on these
instruments is updated when BioBlock is installed. The shutter is
activated to cover the windows only if the time between samples is
sufficiently long.
